Risk Response Bail program

The Risk Response Bail program tender submission period is now closed.

The Queensland Government is committed to reducing youth crime and improving community safety. As part of this commitment, $24.4 million has been allocated across 4 years, with $8.3 million ongoing funding each year, for new bail support programs to support bail compliance and reduce reoffending.

The Risk Response Bail program provides specifically targeted support to youth aged 10 to 17 and their families to address their individual risks and needs, ensure they understand and comply with their bail conditions, including electronic monitoring, and do not offend while on bail.

The Risk Response Bail program aims to:

  • help youth understand and comply with their bail conditions to reduce reoffending
  • address factors that contribute to non-compliance and offending behaviour
  • connect youth and their families with appropriate support services
  • improve outcomes for youth involved in the youth justice system.

The program will support youth ordered to wear an electronic monitoring device as a condition of their bail and to comply with other bail conditions, including a Conditional Bail Program. It will work alongside other programs, including the Staying on Track program, to provide a continuum of support for youth across the youth justice system.
