Victims Advocate Service

If you've been affected by crime, help is available.

The Queensland Government is delivering a new Victims Advocate Service to help victims access information, support and referrals through one coordinated service. Launching in December 2026, the Victims Advocate Service will provide practical help for victims at every stage of their recovery and justice journey.

The service has been designed following consultation with victims of crime, victim advocates, support organisations and government agencies across Queensland.

How the service will help

The Victims Advocate Service will make it easier to:

• understand your options after a crime
• find the right support services
• access information about the justice process
• get help navigating government and community services
• receive additional support if you have complex needs.

The service will be available to victims of crime, family members, witnesses and others seeking support or information.

What the service will include

24/7 contact centre

A dedicated contact centre will provide information, advice and referrals at any time of the day or night.

Online support

A new victim-focused online service on the Queensland Government website will provide:

• information and guidance
• live chat support
• tools to help people find relevant information
• a service finder to connect victims with support services.

Advocacy support

Victims with complex needs will be able to access personalised support to help them navigate services and connect with the assistance they need.

Justice process support

Practical support will be available to help victims understand and navigate the justice system, including court processes and Victim Impact Statements.

Launching in December 2026

The Queensland Government has committed $50 million over 5 years, plus ongoing funding, to establish the Victims Advocate Service. The service, including the contact centre and online support, will commence in December 2026.
