Get involved with Transition to Success
Transition to Success (T2S) gives young people a chance to work toward a future that isn't defined by their past.
T2S is delivered in a community setting. Our Youth Justice officers tailor T2S to match the local community and its young people.
We work with other agencies, local businesses, community organisations and individuals to help the young people engaged in T2S who have broken the law—or are at risk of breaking the law—get back on track.
We deliver T2S in partnership with:
- Education Queensland (i.e. local schools and senior guidance officers)
- registered training organisations (RTO)
- not-for-profit agencies
- community groups
- local businesses.

Volunteer or partner with T2S
T2S thrives on the support of local community organisations, businesses, schools and RTOs. Your involvement can make a significant impact in changing the trajectory of the lives of young people.
There are many ways you can be involved as a T2S partner or volunteer.

Hands-on experience is extremely valuable and can help young people build confidence, positive connections and aid in community reintegration. Partners work with T2S to:
- offer traineeships, internships or work experience to T2S participants
- provide paid employment opportunities and pathways within your industry.
There are a range of different opportunities to support T2S. To find out more or to get involved email the T2S team at T2S@youthjustice.qld.gov.au.
Benefits and opportunities for T2S partners
Partnering or volunteering with T2S can bring benefits for you, your organisation and the local community.
Benefits for the community
You help young people feel more connected to their:
- local community
- culture.
You will contribute to helping reduce youth crime by supporting young people involved in or at-risk of entering the youth justice system to see there are brighter pathways available for them, that they can make better choices and get back on track.
You will be rewarded with knowing that you have helped a young person make a better future for themselves.
Benefits for local businesses
Partnering with T2S adds value to your business.
- Boost your reputation through corporate social responsibility: Did you know 8 out of 10 consumers will consider corporate social responsibility when deciding which products or services to buy and where to shop? By partnering with T2S, your business gets a better understanding of the issues that are important to your clients and your local community, sees the value in what you are doing, and your business's reputation is enhanced. Your staff will also feel great about being part of a business that is helping the community, and helping young people change their lives.
- New skills development: You and your employees will gain new skills and knowledge from your partnership with T2S and mentoring young people in your community. These skills and capabilities can be passed on, building the capacity of your organisation or business.
- Open the door to new possibilities: New networks and opportunities may open, and there may be specific benefits depending on your context.
- Free marketing: T2S will acknowledge your business in all relevant promotional material.
Employing young people from the youth justice system is smart. It helps young people reintegrate back into their communities, prevents reoffending and reduces the number of victims of crime.
Benefits for community organisations
Staff may have access to training offered by Youth Justice.
The partnership will provide evidence to support your funding applications, particularly in the areas of:
- servicing complex clients
- playing a role in redirecting young people away from the justice system.
T2S will acknowledge your partnership in all relevant promotional material.
