Kate Connors

Kate Connors is the Director-General of the Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support, commencing the role in early August 2025.

Kate has 25 years’ experience in policy, strategy, and law reform and has worked for the NSW, Commonwealth, and Queensland governments.

Kate has led major reforms and initiatives across a wide range of priorities, including child protection, youth justice, domestic and family violence, crime prevention, housing, and redress.

Prior to her current role, Kate was the Deputy Director-General, Justice Policy and Reform at the Department of Justice. She has also held senior leadership roles at the Department of Child Safety, Disability Services and Seniors, and the Department of Housing and Public Works.
